leaving Washington

We will be leaving tomorrow and going to Astoria OR for a week . we've had a great summer up here got to visit my two sons and met up with our friends that live here and the weather was nice but different this trip I guess weather is changing over the country. Anyway we will work our way back to AZ  going down the Oregon coast and ending in Roseburg OR the last of Sept. Haven't posted much on this blog this year seems we stay in contact with friends and family on Facebook these days as most of you know, so i don't know how much longer i will  use this blog will let you know when i close it down but that's just the changing times. We plan on being back to Casa Grande to our lot between the 15th of Oct. and the 31st depends on the weather anyway I hope all of you had a great summer where ever you spent it  Safe travels..  

Spokane WA

HI folks,sorry guess I'm not doing very well with keeping up with my blog. We arrived at Clear lake military recreational park on the 28th may we will be here till Thursday the 18th. We have been here 3or 4 times in the past 12 years of visiting the PNW and have always liked the atmosphere here. RV spots are close together but the lake and views are nice. while we were here I called up and old friend who lives in Coeur d. Alene ID. Jack and his wife Leeann worked at the Tucson ANG  and the three of us worked togather in aircraft maintenance section its been 7 or 8 years since we have  seen each other but picked up where we left off    Its always great to see old friends and we had a great visit for a couple days  hopefully it wont be that long till we meet again. We are heading Thursday to Enumclaw WA to visit my son who lives there and the other son will visit over the week end   we will be staying at the fair grounds as they have RV parking there and less that 1/2 mile away anyhow we will be there 5 days and then go to Whidbey island  the 23rd and leave the 30th and go over to the port Townsend area via the ferry for a few months. well that about catches us up to date hope all of you out there are having a great summer safe travels.

we left Casa Grande 5th of May stopped in Laughlin NV over night then on to Las Vegas  for 4 days stayed at Nellis AFB and had a good rest arrived in Hurricane UT  11th may and when to Zion national park one day there are so many colors in the sheer cliffs of limestone the park offers a tour bus and thats the best way to see most of the beautiful park and get a history of  the park there were so many hikers there  a lot of European tourists  they really love our national parks, we arrived in Provo UT the 14th and will leave in morning for Idaho for two days and then to Bozeman MT for 3 days to visit Kathy's brother  then on to Missoula MT plan to be there for a week  then to Spokane WA for 3 weeks. I think I'll stop for now as most of you know our plans are written in jello and could change do to weather or what ever .anyway hope you folks are doing well and have safe travels where ever you are.

Back in Casa Grande

Kathy and I went down to Tucson the 5th to the 15th March for the 55th Escapade  we were on the Parking crew and three days parked 850+ RVs  We had fun with  a lot of our RVing friends we have  met over the years told numerous stories and got caught up on everyone's travels and plans.this lifestyle allows you to meet wonderful folks and to stay in contact with them threw the internet ,Facebook and blogs . A wonderful time was had by all. We are back in Casa Grande until it starts getting to hot and then will head to the Pacific Northwest for the summer. We are doing well and enjoy the folks in this Park (Rovers Roust SKP park) Well folks just wanted to catch you up and give you some idea of our travels and plans hope all of you have fun and safe travels were ever you are.

Leaving Yuma

The month is almost  gone we will leave here the 1st of March and go back to our lot in Casa Grande will only be there 4 days and then go to Tucson on the 5th for the 55 escapade we will be on the parking crew and will have a reunion with a lot of our  2007 RV classmates and all the good times that go along with the escapade. will leave Tucson on the 15th and go back up to Casa Grande till the weather gets hot usually around the end of April and then on to the Pacific Northwest for the summer. We have enjoyed our stay in Yuma for two months  and  seeing one of our sons who lives here. Not much to add I haven't posted in a while so thought I would try and catch folks up on where we are hiding and plan to hide for a while  know we will see many of you soon so until later safe travels.

A eulogy to My Brother in law Billy Jean Monk

We received word on the 24th Jan of his passing after battling COPD for over a year his final 4 days were in the hospital. We flew out Sunday morning for Paragould AR.. We are very sadden but also happy that he is not suffering anymore and knowing he is with the Lord.  The services were very good and was attended by family and many friends who Bill worked fished and hunted with and presided over by the paster who  Bill did many of the adventures with.Billy Jean Monk was more than a brother in law to me he was he was a close friend and folks often thought we were brothers and in our eyes and heart we were. Kathy was very brave and also very sadden as Bill and her were very close He will be very missed . He is survived by his wife Paulet son Matt,granddaughter Autumn,great grandson Jaden  he was proceeded in death by his mother & father and his son Mark.
We flew back to AZ on Saturday and are back in Yuma for a month. Folks hug the ones you love have faith in God as you never know when you might lose them I know this, do what you can now as life is short Kathy and I are doing what we enjoy and I know Bill and Paulet planed to do the same but plans were cut short. RIP  Billy Jean Monk as your are so loved and  missed.  

Casa Grande And Yuma

Well all ye followers I need to catch you up on our travels. After Thanksgiving we moved onto our lot in Casa Grande AZ had concrete poured for a storage shed and a patio with bricks laid down. We bought a tuff shed and moved all our stuff from storage in Tucson up to our storage shed and cleaned out and got rid of some things. anyway we like the park and now have time to change from summer to winter and back again. We picked up our son in Yuma and took him to Tucson with us for a few days over Christmas and then back to Yuma. We left  Casa Grande the 3rd of Jan and will be here in Yuma till end of Feb. and then back to Casa Grande the 1st of March.. Not much more to add looks like Kathy's brother in AK is going more down hill so we are Just on stand by for a trip down there for his funeral so sad well until later folks safe travels.
